Business Analytics: Data-Driven Operations dykker ned i beslutningstagning og diskuterer business analytics samt forudsigende og lærende tilgange. Som studerende vil man få viden om fænomener relateret til business intelligence og data intelligence samt de nødvendige færdigheder, der hjælper dem med at vurdere forretningsmæssige tilgange til at håndtere disse fænomener effektivt.
Kurset er struktureret i tre indbyrdes forbundne moduler:
1. Business Analytics
2. Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning & Predictive Approaches
3. Business Intelligence and Data Analytics
Modulerne er struktureret på en måde, der sikrer progression i kurset. Det pensum, der dækkes i hver forelæsning, vil blive brugt som baggrund for de efterfølgende.
(Modulerne kan ikke ses som selvstændige dele.)
Undervisningen sigter mod at indramme de forretningsmæssige og driftsmæssige problemområder og derefter koncentrere sig om diskussionen af praktiske dilemmaer, som ledere står over for. Eksempler på ledelsesområder, der dækkes i kurset, omfatter efterspørgselsprognoser, lagerstyring og koordinering af forsyningskæden.

Kurset vil især have fokus på:
- At reflektere over Business Intelligence og Data Analytics’ rolle i forskellige organisationer og forretningssammenhænge.
- At foretage analyser og præsentere generelle og/eller specifikke løsninger baseret på kursusprogrammet.
- At evaluere mulige alternative løsninger til det pågældende problem og argumentere for valget af den tilgang, der er bedst egnet til at løse problemet.
- At identificere styrker og svagheder ved løsningstilgange.
