From expert to leader
In both the public and private sector, skilled employees are often promoted to lead colleagues, teams and departments. But how do you navigate that transition? How do you step into a new hybrid role and find your own leadership identity? And how do you tackle redefined relationships and the development of management skills?
You may have already faced those challenges – or you may potentially face them. For this event, CBS Executive Education focused on the transition from field expert to competent leader. We invited a panel of researchers, coaches and current managers from CBS's Executive Master programmes Master of Public Governance and Master of Management Development, who themselves had experienced transitioning from employee to manager. We talked about transitions, motivation and new positions of authority.
