Research Profile

CBS addresses some of today’s most pressing societal challenges, including the green transition, responsible leadership, digitalisation, artificial intelligence and the future of work.

Research Excellence

CBS is the top Danish university when it comes to publishing in the most highly ranked international journals in business and management (AJG 4 and 4*) – accounting for nearly half of all Danish AJG 4* publications in the period 2019–2023.

Our publications also have strong academic impact and are cited more frequently than those from other Danish and European universities. Internationally, CBS is ranked among the leading Nordic institutions in the QS and Shanghai rankings within Business & Management and Accounting & Finance.

Research at CBS is not only excellent – it is also highly relevant to society. In 2024, CBS attracted DKK 186 million in external research funding from the EU as well as Danish public and private foundations. These grants reflect CBS’ strong engagement with the world around us – and a research practice where academic excellence supports concrete solutions to complex societal challenges.
