Leadership and organisation at CBS
CBS is headed by the President, who reports to the CBS Board of Directors. The Board holds the overall responsibility towards the Minister for Higher Education. In day-to-day management the President works closely with the Deputy President, the two deans and the University Director – together they form Senior Management at CBS.
How CBS’ core activities are organised
Our core tasks – research and education – are driven by the Dean of Education, the Deputy President and the Dean of Research.
- The Dean of Education is responsible for all programmes at CBS, from bachelor and master programmes to MBA, master and HD programmes. Study boards and heads of studies report to this area.
- The Deputy President leads CBS’ departments and heads of department and is responsible for our faculty. The Deputy President also acts as deputy to the President.
- The Dean of Research ensures and develops the quality of CBS’ research, including the attraction of external funding and the ph.d. area.
- The University Director holds the overall responsibility for CBS’ finances and for the cross-cutting administrative units.
Bodies and committees that advise CBS’ leadership
- The Academic Council advises the President on matters of academic importance and supports dialogue between leadership, employees and students.
- The General Consultation Committee advises the President on matters that fall under managerial authority and works to ensure good working conditions, motivation and a strong working environment.
- The Committee for Diversity and Inclusion (CDI) advises on initiatives that aim to strengthen diversity and inclusion among employees and students.

Board meetings
The Board of Directors holds four ordinary meetings and one board seminar each year. The agenda and documents for the board meetings are available on the website at least four days before each meeting.

The education area (Panel content)
The Education Area manages all CBS’ degree programmes and provides services to students, study boards, programme directors and lecturers.
Study boards
The bachelor and master programmes are organised into 10 study boards, each consisting of five lecturers and five student representatives.
The executive programmes are organised into eight study boards, each consisting of four lecturers and four student representatives.
