Mode of operation
We are a member-driven group:
The BHRights Initiative runs on the commitment, interest and passion of members. We do not have funding, and we do not ask members to pay fees, but we do encourage members to take opportunities to share information on BHR-related events. We also encourage members to, for example, consider options to organize workshops or other events including members of the BHRights Initiative in the margins of other events (larger conferences etc).
An organically growing interdisciplinary group, The BHRights Initiative provides an academic identity to participants with a commitment to Business and Human Rights (BHR).
Meetings, events, and who can participate:
We aim to have at least one annual meeting targeting core organizational and administrative issues of the Initiative. This meeting typically takes place on the second day of the UN Forum on Business and Human Rights. This meeting functions as the general meeting of the Initiative. Participants at this and other organizational/administrative meetings of The BHRights Initiative should be members of the Initiative,
Members are encouraged to, for example, make use of options to organize workshops or other events including members of the BHRights Initiative in the margins of other events (larger conferences etc). Potential members are welcome to join such events organized by or in connection with The BHRights Initiative (at the discretion of the local host).
