Collaboration with the Centre for Competition, Regulation and Economic Development (CCRED) at the University of Johannesburg

Institutional collaboration between CBDS at Copenhagen Business School (CBS) and the Centre for Competition, Regulation and Economic Development (CCRED) at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) started in early 2019. C

BS has a strong research, teaching and engagement record, and cross-cutting platforms, in key areas of common interest with UJ – such as digitalization, sustainability and inequality. UJ has an ambitious agenda across its key schools focusing on digitalization and industry 4.0; the role of business in Africa; and industrial development and competition. Instruments of this strategic collaboration include joint research projects as well as relationships built through joint seminars and lectures under visiting arrangements.

The key research questions addressed by the collaboration are: How are Industry 4.0 technologies, digitalization and sustainability management re-shaping global value chains? With what consequences for the geography of production, the nature of work, inequality and the distribution of value added? With what dynamics and consequences? What are the public policy implications?
