Obtain permission to film and take photos on CBS campus

You must obtain permission by email if you wish to conduct interviews, take photos, record audio or film on campus. Permission helps ensure a calm working environment, that relevant employees are informed in advance and that students and employees are disturbed as little as possible. Please note that rules also apply to private individuals who film or take photos for social media.

As a general rule, we do not make buildings, outdoor areas or students available for commercial purposes. We prioritise supporting journalists who work on relevant stories related to education and research. We frequently decline requests to ensure a calm working environment on campus.

Guidelines for all

  • You must be able to present written permission if you interview, film or take photos on campus with the intention to publish.
  • You (and any production team) must help maintain a calm and orderly environment and must not disturb or follow students and employees around campus. Declining to take part in interviews, recordings or photos must be respected, otherwise this may lead to suspension from campus.
  • Filming or taking photos at CBS Library or in connection with exams is not permitted.
  • Filming or taking photos during teaching is not permitted without an additional permission from the lecturer.
  • You can also read the Danish Data Protection Agency’s rules for publishing images on the internet and social media.

Specifically for journalists and press photographers

  • You must obtain verbal consent from individuals who take part in a journalistic story or who can be recognised. This also applies to people in the background who can be identified. Please note that because you are on a campus, the rules for filming and taking photos are stricter than the usual distinction between situational images and portraits in public spaces.
  • The angle and purpose of footage involving individuals in cover shots, vox pops or interview settings must be clearly explained, and declining to take part must be respected.

Specifically for non-journalistic purposes

Specifically for private individuals, influencers and others

  • It is not permitted to publish photos or video recordings on social media of individuals in intimate or private situations, cf. Penal Code s. 264 d.
  • You must not disturb or follow students and employees around campus. Declining to be photographed or filmed must be respected, otherwise this may lead to suspension from campus.

Before you request permission

Before you call or email to request permission, please have the following information ready:

  • Name of the media outlet/company that wishes to film, take photos or conduct interviews
  • Responsible contact person
  • Purpose
  • Date and time
  • Participants and preferred location on campus

Submit your request at least one week in advance if you want to ensure that it can be processed in time. Contact Executive Support and Communications (SLK) at press@cbs.dk.
