State of the Art

Visit from Shanghai Jiao Tong and Purdue University

04/19/2012

This is the week of the first ever Shanghai Jiao Tong-Purdue-CBS meeting to take place at CBS, with Dean ZHANG Guoliang & Prof. XUE Ke, School of Media and Design, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Professor Patrice Buzzanell & Associate Professor Stacey Connaughton, Brian Lamb School of Communication, College of Liberal Arts, Purdue University.

Our Chinese and American friends are the special guests of the ICM Communication, Organization and Governance  Cluster, from 18-19 April, while Patrice and Stacey will also be working with Robin Remke and Esben Karmark.

For us, it’s a great opportunity to get an idea of the state of the art in Chinese Media and Communication Research and to be updated on activities at Purdue, one of the leading US Communication and Media environments.

The meeting serves two more purposes: preparing the upcoming Global Communication Forum Preconference at the ICA, Phoenix, in May 2012 (with SJTU, Purdue and ICM as co-organizers); mapping potential for collaboration around student exchange.
