2 day workshop -  Transparency, Communication and Organization by the COG cluster

Right after the International Communication Association conference (which is held in London, June 17th – 21st), we bring together – here at CBS – an exclusive group of organizational communication scholars for an informal 2 day workshop on transparency, communication and organization.

The goal of the workshop is to explore how organizations handle the transparency ideal communicatively in a context where transparency has attracted increased public, political and managerial attention and gradually proliferated into all types of organizational practice.

The international participants are:

  • François Cooren, Université de Montréal, Canada
  • Boris Brummans, Université de Montréal, Canada
  • Juliet Roper, Waikato University, New Zealand
  • Dennis Mumby, University of North Carolina, USA
  • Shiv Ganesh, Massey University, New Zealand
  • Cynthia Stohl, UC Santa Barbara, USA
  • Michael Stohl, UC Santa Barbara, USA

In addition to this group, we hope to see as many of you as possible. It’s a unique opportunity for us all to discuss the important issue of transparency in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

We know it is a weekend and thus, perhaps, difficult for you to attend. However, we wanted to arrange this unique event right after ICA, that is, before our international participants went back to their home countries.

We plan to start the workshop around 11 am on Saturday June 22nd and finish Sunday afternoon. The exact details will be settled shortly.
