PhD defence: Majbritt Greve

In order to obtain the PhD degree, Majbritt Greve has submitted her thesis entitled: Maersk's role in economic development: A study of shipping and logistics foreign direct investment in global trade

Wednesday, May 11, 2022 - 13:00 to 15:00

Majbritt Greve

The PhD is about the world’s largest container shipping company, Maersk, and its role in developing country trade and economic development. Despite being a key industry for trade, we know very little about how shipping and logistics foreign direct investment promote or hinder developing country trade. Exemplified by a study of Maersk, the objective of this thesis is to contribute to a better understanding of how the introduction of advanced shipping and logistics services by a foreign investor occurs and the potential effects on developing country export performance.
