English language requirement

The programme requires English at Danish level A.

The English requirements are very strict, which means that only the qualifications listed on the English level A page are accepted as alternative fulfilment.

The English language requirement must be fulfilled by the application deadline.

SPECIFIC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants who do not have one of the above-mentioned bachelor degrees can also be qualified for the programme, if they have an equivalent academic background, which covers the academic areas listed below in full and as prescribed. Your educational background will be subject to an overall individual assessment in order to establish whether your bachelor's degree qualifies you for the programme and the following specific entry requirements are met: 

The specific entry requirements are min. 30 ECTS-points within one or more of the following areas:

• Business administration (Examples include: Innovation/entrepreneurship, Strategy, Management, Organisation, Marketing, Microeconomics, Finance and Accounting)
   
• IT (Examples include: information technology; computer science; programming; computer algorithms; information systems; information management; computer-mediated communication; information architecture and design; systems design)
   
• Media, communication and design (Examples include: organisational communication; communication design; design management; visual communication; aesthetics; media management; design concepts, architecture; product design)
   
• Politics/culture/society studies  (Examples include: sociology; social studies; politics/political science; public administration; anthropology; development studies; law; psychology; culture studies; area studies; history; philosophy)

Corporate Part-time Master programme
You have the option to study MSc in Business Administration and Digital Business (previously E-business) as a part-time student over a period of 4 years.

To be admitted to the part-time programme, you must have relevant employment in a company or have your own company/start-up and work a minimum of 25 hours per week. If you have your own company, please send in documentation for turnover and income generating activities. If you are an entrepreneur, you need to document your CVR number, and you need to be a part of an incubator environment, e.g. CSE at CBS.

All entry requirements and selection criteria remain the same, whether you enrol in the full-time programme or the part-time programme. There are no specific number of places reserved for Corporate Part-time Master applicants, and it is therefore neither easier nor more difficult to get into the MSc in Business Administration and Digital Business (previously E-business) programme as Corporate Part-time Master student.

You will have to choose between the full-time and the part-time programme when you apply in the Application Portal. If you choose the part-time option, you will be requested to fill out and upload the employment agreement form below no later than 1 August. If you apply in the winter application round the deadline is 1 January. If you do not have an employment agreement at the time when you apply, you must upload a letter instead, explaining how you intend to document that you will be employed in a position relevant to the programme. If you fail to document that you have relevant employment by the deadline, you will be offered a place at the full-time programme instead.

The Employment agreement form will be reviewed after 1 August / 1 January (winter round) and you will be informed about the decision before study start.

You can only be accepted to the Part-Time Programme if you have filled out the whole form, and it is signed by the company. If you are associated with an incubator, please make sure that the form is signed by the incubator.

CBS reserves the right to contact SKAT in order to verify the information you have provided in the employment agreement.

The following types of positions are considered relevant for the programme: jobs in a company's IT department; jobs within business development, with a focus on the expansion of digital business areas; positions related to design, implementation and development of corporate e-commerce solutions; positions related to design, development and innovation of digital products and services; consultancy positions, especially within development or counseling regarding digital business solutions; self-employed or as a partner in small business, including companies that are housed in an incubator or other innovation environments engaged in developing digital solutions (or intending to develop digital solutions or products); jobs in public corporations, especially in positions with focus on digital communications and business elements or development of new digital solutions.

Please note that you cannot apply for the part-time corporate master programme if you need a student residence permit to study in Denmark. The part-time corporate master programme is only offered for applicants in group 1. See more information about applicant groups.
 

CBS Admissions is not able to pre-assess your qualifications ahead of the application round.

To help you to prepare your application, you have the following two options:

• Check below if we have already published an advance assessment for your bachelor degree
• If your bachelor degree is not listed in the advance assessments below, you can make your own self-assessment using the self-assessment (course match) form further down

Advance assessments

The following advance assessments are valid for the 2023 admission round for applicants whose bachelor degree exactly matches the university, degree title and enrolment year listed.

The advance assessments are based on the obligatory courses as listed in the programme regulations. If you have obligatory courses that have been credit transferred from elsewhere, we will not use the advance assessment and will instead assess your courses using the available documentation.

The advance assessments are grouped accordingly:

·       Qualifying Bachelor Degrees:
Your obligatory courses fulfil the specific entry requirements

·       Potentially Qualifying Bachelor Degrees:
Your obligatory courses do not fully cover the specific entry requirements. You will therefore need to either choose relevant electives or take supplementary qualifying courses to fulfil the requirements.

·       Non-qualifying Bachelor Degrees: 
Your obligatory courses do not fulfil the specific entry requirements and it is unlikely that elective courses and/or taking supplementary qualifying courses will help you to fulfil the requirements in full.

Your bachelor degree could be placed in different categories for different enrolment years.

Fulfilment of the entry requirements does not guarantee admission. Read more under ‘Selection Criteria’.

SELF-ASSESSMENT (COURSE MATCH)

Use this form to get an overview of your undergraduate courses (from your bachelor degree as well as any supplementary courses outside of your bachelor degree). You can include courses you have passed as well as courses you are currently taking, or plan to take in the summer.

The programme has a limited number of places.

Only applicants fulfilling the specific entry requirements are considered qualified and will be considered in the selection process.

The programme strives to admit students with a diverse and broad spectre of educational backgrounds. Please also refer to the advance assessments for the programme for a better understanding of what this means in practice and of whether you are a qualified applicant.

If there are more qualified applicants than places available at the programme, selection criteria will be applied. You are subject to an overall assessment of your academic background at undergraduate level with a focus on:

• General grade level
• Coverage of multiple academic areas within the specific entry requirements
• Personal statement (see below)
