Primary research areas

Health Economics

I study how health care providers, medical treatments, and the organisation of care affect patients’ health and economic outcomes.

Family Economics

I analyse how family circumstances and public policies shape children’s health, well-being, and long-term outcomes.

Gender and Health Inequality

I study how gender and socioeconomic background shape the care people receive and contribute to inequalities in health.

Health, families, and inequality

My research examines how health care, family circumstances, and public policy shape people’s health, well-being, and economic outcomes. I use large-scale administrative data and natural experiments to identify what makes a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

A central part of my work investigates how physicians and patients interact, how gender and socioeconomic background affect the care people receive, and how medical treatments influence health and work. I also study how parental leave, early childhood care, and parents’ health shape children’s development and well-being.

My aim is to provide evidence that helps policymakers and health-care professionals design more effective and equitable health and family policies.
