Health, families, and inequality
My research examines how health care, family circumstances, and public policy shape people’s health, well-being, and economic outcomes. I use large-scale administrative data and natural experiments to identify what makes a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
A central part of my work investigates how physicians and patients interact, how gender and socioeconomic background affect the care people receive, and how medical treatments influence health and work. I also study how parental leave, early childhood care, and parents’ health shape children’s development and well-being.
My aim is to provide evidence that helps policymakers and health-care professionals design more effective and equitable health and family policies.
