Frederik is currently writing his thesis on European Contract Law, focusing on how the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive affect the Doctrine of Privity of Contract.
This thesis aims to explore how the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive impacts European Contract Law, and how companies working within the internal market can potentially capitalise on this new regulatory paradigm. This requires an understanding of how the value chain perspective in climate regulation, especially the CSDDD, challenges the foundational principles within EU contract law, with a specific focus on the doctrine of privity of contract and the legal framework that governs sustainable contracting within the EU.
Frederik was on a research stay at Peter A. Allard School of Law, University of British Columbia, from August 2024 until December 2024.
