Johanna Sofie Jost from Center for Corporate Governance at Copenhagen Business School was featured on P1 Orientering on earlier this week, where she presented insights from her latest research on young people’s entry into investing.

The study examines how key financial events in adolescence, including confirmation gifts and the disbursement of børnepenge, can serve as important triggers for early engagement with financial markets. The findings highlight how access to financial resources at a young age may influence long-term financial behaviour and decision-making.

By focusing on these early-life economic experiences, the research contributes to a broader understanding of financial literacy and inclusion. It also offers new perspectives on how and when individuals begin to participate in financial markets, with implications for policymakers, educators, and industry stakeholders.

Johanna Sofie Jost’s participation in P1 Orientering brings this research to a wider public audience and underscores the relevance of understanding financial behaviour from an early age.
