New to the lib­rary? Here is what you need to know

Wel­come to the lib­rary at CBS. Here is a quick over­view to help you get star­ted – es­pe­cially if you have not used the lib­rary be­fore.

Library card and PIN for borrowing books

As a CBS student, you are already registered as a library user. You can log in to Libsearch with your CBS username and password.

If you want to borrow physical books using the self-service machines, you need a PIN. You create it yourself once you are logged in:

  • In Libsearch, go to “Update PIN and login details” and choose a four-digit code.

Curriculum books

In the Course Collection on the ground floor, you will find one copy of every book on your curriculum.
You cannot take these copies home, but you are welcome to use them in the library.

Many curriculum books are also available as e-books that you can read on your computer or tablet.

Your reading lists are in CBS Canvas and at Academic Books.
Once you know what you need, search for it in Libsearch.

Use the library online

A large part of the library’s resources is digital, and you can access most of it from home with your CBS login.

Some examples of what you'll find:

  • e-books and articles
  • market reports and financial statements
  • statistics, legal sources and reference works

Open 24/7 for CBS students and employees

The library at Solbjerg Plads is open around the clock.
You can even buy coffee throughout the night in the CBS Library Kiosk.

Your student card works as your access card.
To activate extended access, hand in your card at Campus Desk – you can pick it up the next day.

Study seats and group rooms

You will find study seats and group rooms at several locations on campus.
As a CBS student, you can book them through my.cbs.dk.

Courses in searching

Do you want to become stronger at literature searching or keeping track of your sources?
Sign up for one of the library’s many courses. You'll learn:

  • how to use reference tools
  • how to work with survey tools
  • how to search in databases and other online resources

It is important that you cite and reference your sources correctly.
