Primary research areas

Risk in the global economy

I research how the logics and infrastructures of risk management and ‘de-risking’ emerge, evolve and influence the global economy.

States and international organizations

I study how states, international organizations (IOs) and management consultancies shape and are shaped by macro- and geo-economic transformations

Decarbonization

Thematically, my research tends to focus on decarbonization, climate and energy policy.

How do states make – or break – the global political economy? Who else governs, and how?

I am a Post-Doctoral Fellow in International Political Economy at Copenhagen Business School. In broad terms, I study how states, international organizations and other actors shape – and are reshaped by – financial regimes in the global political economy. Thematically, I focus on decarbonization and economic policy. I primarily use qualitative and archival approaches.

My current research is part of the Financial Transparency package of the Velux and Villum Foundation-funded project, ‘Algorithms, Data and Democracy’.

Alongside my academic work, I regularly contribute to public debate, and have written for and appeared in media outlets including The Guardian, NPR and BBC Radio 4. With my PhD supervisor, Mariana Mazzucato, I am co-author of the book 'The Big Con'.

Outside of research, I love teaching and supervising students on all the above. If you are a CBS student, you are welcome to book time to meet during my office hour on Mondays from 16.00-17.00 in Kilen 3.45.
