What is Scopus?

Scopus is a comprehensive research database from Elsevier that includes scientific articles, conference papers and book chapters from around the world.

The database covers all subject areas, including business, economics, social sciences, technology, natural sciences and health sciences, and provides access to abstracts, author profiles and citation data.

Scopus is, together with Web of Science, regarded as one of the most recognised databases for bibliometric analyses, literature searches and research assessment.

When is Scopus useful?

Scopus is a key tool for literature searches and citation tracking, helping you navigate the global research landscape.

Scopus is especially helpful when you:

  • need to find academic literature
  • need to identify the most cited articles and authors

In short, Scopus provides a very broad and up-to-date overview of global research from the latest articles to classic studies.
