What is Orbis?

Orbis is a comprehensive global company database, run by Moody’s (previously published by Bureau van Dijk). It contains information on both private and listed companies across the world.

It brings together data from many different sources and standardises them so you can compare data across countries and sectors.

What can you find in Orbis?

For CBS users, Orbis is a need-to-know source. It is a central provider of financial company data and ownership structures.

Orbis contains information on more than 400 million companies worldwide, including banks and insurance companies. Denmark is represented with more than two million companies.

You can find:

  • Financial information presented as figures and graphics
  • Ten years of data for listed companies, at least five years for other companies
  • Industry classifications for companies
  • Short descriptions of company history and activities
  • Contact information including address, phone number, email, URL and Google Maps link
  • Senior management and board members

There is NO access to Global Reports, Royalty Agreement or Industry Profiles.
