What is OECD Data?

OECD Data gives you access to macroeconomic statistics from the organisation’s 52 member countries as well as sector-specific statistics within areas such as Education and skills, Environment and climate change, Industry, business and entrepreneurship and Science, technology and innovation.

How to find data in OECD Data

There are several ways to find data in OECD Data.

  • The search bar on the front page

  • Indicators in the menu – here you will find almost 300 indicators presented as interactive graphs that you can adjust by year, frequency and other parameters. Use the blue button “Access the source dataset in Data Explorer” to continue to the underlying datasets.

  • Data Explorer in the menu – here you can work in more detail with the various datasets organised by topic.

What is the difference between Indicators and Data Explorer?

Indicators
OECD’s simple and visually oriented entry point to its statistics. You will find clear graphs, key figures and short explanations on a wide range of themes such as economy, education, health, taxation and labour markets.

Indicators is a good place to start when you:

  • Need quick overviews and basic figures
  • Need simple graphs for presentations
  • Are looking for introductions to a topic without advanced data tools

Data Explorer
OECD’s advanced data platform where you can work directly with the underlying datasets, download table data and tailor your searches with filters, variables, time series and country selections.

Use Data Explorer when you:

  • Need deeper analyses or tailored data extracts
  • Need historical time series or specific indicators
  • Want to download data to Excel or other analytical tools
