What is Mediestream?

Mediestream is a digital service from Royal Danish Library enabling you to access both historical and recent Danish media. The platform contains a large archive of newspapers, radio and TV broadcasts and advertising films that document Danish media and social history.

Hvad kan man finde?

In Mediestream, you can find full broadcast schedules from DR1, DR2, TV2, TV2 News, P1, P3 and P4 – not just individual programmes.
You can search across TV, radio and commercials, or explore one of the collections in depth.

  • Feature films that have been shown on television are not included.
  • Overview of TV channels and periods covered.
  • Overview of radio channels and periods covered.
  • Overview of newspapers og ownerless newspapers and periods covered,
  • CBS only has access to newspaper articles older than one hundred years.

When is Mediestream useful?

Students and researchers can use Mediestream to find: 

  • primary sources
  • follow media coverage over time
  • investigate language, culture and political trends in Denmark

The platform includes a wide range of teaching-relevant radio and TV programmes such as background features, societal programmes and debate, educational content and cultural programmes.

It is also useful for research and assignments within media and communication, social sciences, rhetoric, politics or Danish language use. The historical advertising films are valuable for research in marketing and advertising.
