Search across databases

EBSCOhost makes it possible to search all available databases in a single search. Instead of searching each database individually, you can get results from EBSCO’s full content with one click – from business and economics to sociology, psychology, education and much more.

These databases are included in the cross-database search, but can also be used individually:

  • Academic Search Elite
  • APA PsycArticles
  • APA PsycInfo
  • Business Source Ultimate
  • Communication & Mass Media Complete
  • eBook Collection (EBSCOhost)
  • eBook Subscription Harvard Business Publishing Collection (EBSCOhost)
  • EconLit
  • ERIC
  • Regional Business News
  • SocINDEX with Full Text

See which EBSCO databases include the most relevant articles for your search
Once you have run a search, click on filters and open the filter for databases. There you can see how many hits each database provides. It may be helpful to search in just one or two databases to avoid unnecessary noise.

When is it useful to use?

EBSCOhost databases – cross-database search is a good place to start if you are unsure where to begin your search.

  • When you need a broad overview of a topic across academic fields
  • In the early research phase, when you want to identify relevant databases and sources
  • When your topic is cross-disciplinary and requires insights from several disciplines, for example business and psychology or management and sociology

Search tips
Choose "Advanced Search" to fine-tune your search. Keep in mind that each database has its own subject terms, filters and publication types.

  • Filter by publication types and date ranges
  • Select from "Search Options", where different search techniques narrow or broaden your results
  • Add "Subjects" from EBSCO’s subject lists
  • Limit your search to specific publications
