A data­base with an in­ter­dis­cip­lin­ary pro­file

Academic Search Elite is an interdisciplinary database from EBSCOhost that provides access to thousands of academic journals, many of them available in full text – for example, American Historical Review, American Journal of Political Science, and British Journal of Psychology.

The database covers a wide range of disciplines – from business, economics and management to social sciences, humanities and natural sciences – making it an excellent supplement to other EBSCOhost databases available through the library.

When is Academic Search Elite useful?

Its interdisciplinary scope allows you to find articles on your topic from multiple perspectives.

Search tips

Choose “Advanced Search” to refine your search using:

  • Filters, publication types, and date ranges
  • Search Options, where different search techniques can narrow or broaden your results
  • Add Subjects from EBSCO’s subject term list
  • Limit your search to a specific publication

"Sub­jects Au­thor­ity" is a list of sub­ject terms that EB­SCO­host as­signs to the art­icles. Use these terms to nar­row or broaden your search res­ults – or as in­spir­a­tion for find­ing oth­er rel­ev­ant keywords.
Lists of journ­als
Un­der "Pub­lic­a­tions Au­thor­ity", you can lim­it your search to spe­cif­ic journ­als, browse their tables of con­tents and see which pub­lic­a­tion years are in­cluded in the data­base.
Ex­port ref­er­ences
Send ref­er­ences dir­ectly from EB­SCO to Mendeley. This makes it easy to re­vis­it the art­icles you want to use in your as­sign­ments or pa­pers.
