Ambitious and Experienced EU Research Advisor

CBS' strategy aims to further strengthen both the quality and societal relevance of our research. We seek to increase external research funding, particularly through interdisciplinary collaboration, while enhancing the impact of our research on society. These ambitions go hand in hand with providing professional, proactive and service-oriented support to our departments and researchers.

We are currently looking for an experienced colleague who is passionate about strengthening CBS' success in attracting European research and innovation funding, particularly under Horizon Europe and the upcoming new framework programme taking effect from 2028. You will become part of the University's central Research Support Office (RSO). In addition to providing direct research support, RSO works with strategic and cross-cutting initiatives related to external research funding in close collaboration with the academic departments.

RSO consists of a Head of Office, a Executive Adviser (EA), a data analyst, and 14 highly specialised Research Advisors, all of whom bring a professional and collaborative approach to their work. We place a strong emphasis on knowledge sharing, teamwork, and maintaining an open and informal working environment. We are committed to continuous professional and team development, and you will have significant flexibility to organise your own work while helping to shape both the team and the wider organisation. You will become part of a supportive team that also values a strong sense of community and enjoys social activities together.

Primary responsibilities

  • Provide pre-award research support with a primary focus on European research funding programmes.
  • Contribute to strategic and cross-cutting initiatives together with colleagues in RSO and across the University.
  • Bridge strategic EU funding activities with the development of concrete Horizon Europe proposals.
  • Undertake assignments in support of CBS departments and the University Executive Management.

You will serve as the dedicated contact person for one of CBS' academic departments and will work closely with the department's Funding Coordinator and Head of Department. Together, you will identify the department's support needs and help ensure that both investigator-driven research funding and larger strategic funding opportunities contribute to the department's research ambitions and the career development of its researchers.

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate who has:

  • A relevant master’s degree or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of external research funding, preferably including European research and innovation programmes.
  • Solid experience with pre-award and/or post-award research support.
  • Experience supporting strategic and/or cross-organisational initiatives.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both English and Danish.
  • A collaborative, service-minded and approachable working style.
  • Strong facilitation skills and a willingness to share knowledge and best practices.

At times, the pace of work is high, particularly around funding deadlines. We therefore expect you to be able to prioritise effectively, maintain focus under pressure and deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines.

We offer an open, informal and collaborative working environment where you will have considerable influence over your own tasks and opportunities to shape your role.

We offer

This is a challenging, rewarding and independent position in an international university environment. You will enjoy varied responsibilities, extensive interaction with colleagues across CBS and with external stakeholders, and the opportunity to contribute directly to strengthening research excellence at one of Europe's leading business universities.

Salary and terms of employment

Employment and salary are based on the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC).

The position is full-time (37 hours per week), and we hope to appoint the successful candidate as soon as possible.
