Studying how we can humanize organizations
My research focuses on two main themes: the promotion of workplace health and well-being, and decision-making situations involving leadership and/or employee participation. My aim is to help organizations reach better decisions through professional and psychologically safe processes. For example, I have studied participatory health and well-being workshops in the workplace with a focus on how social dynamics between employees and managers shape the agreements that are reached and how the participants navigate the inherent social delicacies of participatory decision-making.
I draw on data from different settings, including industrial settings, the care sector, office environments, and policing, adopting qualitative and mixed methods approaches. In particular, I analyze everyday communication drawing on ethnomethodological and conversation analytical approaches.
