Presentation

I completed a PhD in Science and Technology Policy (University of Sussex-SPRU) and a Habilitation in Economics (University of Bremen). My research is at the intersection of international business, economic geography and innovation. Current work deals with the internationalization of R&D by European multinational firms as well as the global diffusion of artificial intelligence (AI) related technologies. I am contributing to the research network on the "Dynamics of Innovation Systems: Perspectives, influences and operationalization" (German Science Foundation), the collaborative research project “AI in China – Data, methods and sector applications” (Sino-Danish-Center) as well as the European PhD Network on the “Economics of Innovation, AI and data science applications”. At the department, my research is part of the principal focus area “International Business” and relates to the societal themes of “Technological change and digital transformation” as well as “Emerging markets and rise of Asia”. I am Visiting Fellow at the John H. Dunning Centre for International Business at the University of Reading (United Kingdom) and Honorary Research Fellow at the Centre for Science, Technology and Innovation Indicators (South Africa).
