International research from Springer Nature

What is SpringerLink?

SpringerLink is an academic platform from Springer Nature that offers access to millions of scientific articles, books, book series and reference works.

The content covers a wide range of academic fields, including economy, business, social sciences, technology, law, environment, natural sciences and health sciences. All material is peer reviewed and published by one of the world’s most recognised research publishers.

SpringerLink also contains a large collection of e-books.
The library has purchased access to some areas, but not everything:

  • Business and economy 2005–
  • Mathematics and statistics 2005–2009, 2013–
  • Computer science 2012–

Explore the reference works

In addition to journals and e-books, SpringerLink also offers access to a wide selection of reference works and encyclopaedias within areas such as business, social sciences, technology and statistics.

It is useful to be familiar with this part of SpringerLink because reference works provide:

  • quick access to reliable explanations
  • definitions and overviews of theories, concepts and research fields.

They are particularly helpful during the research phase of a project or assignment, when you need to establish a solid theoretical foundation.

When is SpringerLink useful?

SpringerLink is especially relevant if you:

  • need peer reviewed articles for assignments, projects or research
  • need internationally recognised sources for academic work

Search tip

Use subject categories

On the SpringerLink front page, you can browse by subject. This makes it easier to find articles that are relevant to your topic because the subject categories are highly detailed.
