What is Retsinformation?

Retsinformation is the Danish state’s official online database for laws, executive orders and other legal regulations. You can find legislation, departmental notices, guidelines and legislative preparatory works published by ministries and public authorities.

The database includes both current law and historical documents and is updated daily.

What can I find in Retsinformation?

  • All Danish acts, executive orders, circulars, guidelines, decisions and more from the ministries.
  • Documents from the Danish Parliament, including bills, proposals, reports, opinions and debates.
  • Lovtidende and Ministerialtidende, which are the official publications for new regulations.
  • Links to additional information on legislation in Denmark, Rigsfælleskabet and the EU.

When is Retsinformation useful?

Use Retsinformation when you need to find, verify or cite Danish legislation, preparatory works or administrative rules:

  • When you need current Danish legislation
  • When you search for legislative preparatory works
  • When you need to locate circulars, guidelines or executive orders
  • When you need authoritative sources
