Broad academic coverage

Oxford Academic contains journals and books across many subject areas. The library does not subscribe to everything, but you can search the entire platform.

Within the social sciences there is strong coverage of politics, economy and sociology. It is also strong within history, mathematics and more. In addition to articles and books, you can also find images.

The left-hand menu shows how much content each subject area contains, and you can choose to display only what the library has access to.

When is Oxford Academic useful?

Use a publisher database like Oxford Academic when you want to ensure that you only find academically reputable sources. It is also useful if you want to search a smaller and more focused collection than, for example, Libsearch and Google Scholar.
