Associate Professorship in Marketing
Copenhagen Business School invites applications for a vacant Associate Professorship at the Department of Marketing. Core research areas of the Department of Marketing include Branding, B2B Marketing/Sales, Consumer Behavior, Digital Marketing, and Tourism & Hospitality Management. The associate professor’s research must have a clear relevance to one or more of the Department’s core research areas.
Expected starting date is during 2027 (preferably no later than 1 September).

Our teaching responsibilities comprise undergraduate, graduate, and executive teaching in general marketing and across the core research areas of the Department. Teaching is delivered in both Danish and English.
The associate professorship is a tenured position with research and teaching obligations. To fulfil the responsibilities of the position and participate actively in department life, successful applicants are expected to be physically present on a regular basis and engage in the teaching, research, and other academic activities of the Department.

- Contributing to the administrative responsibilities of the department and to CBS-wide tasks
- External engagement, including generating and communicating societal impact to the public in general and to CBS’s stakeholders in particular
- Active participation in department life, including engaging in research, supervision of early career researchers and PhD students and other academic activities, and contributing to a collaborative and supportive collegial environment
- Promoting CBS's academic reputation
Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate research and teaching qualifications corresponding to the level achieved through a successful Assistant Professorship or equivalent. Candidates must document relevant, original and up-to-date scientific publications at an international level within one of the core research areas covered by the department. The candidate should be able to document pedagogical qualifications, good teaching evaluations, and the ability to innovate within the educational field. CBS emphasizes the candidate’s ability to establish productive contacts with the business community and other stakeholders to provide impact. The applicant must have professional proficiency in English (written and spoken). The Department has teaching commitments in both English- and Danish-language programmes and welcomes applicants who can contribute to teaching in Danish; however, proficiency in Danish is not a requirement for the position.

The portfolio must include an overview of the applicant’s past teaching achievements and practice and its impact on the students, reflections on pedagogical competencies and core strengths, the educational competencies the applicant would like to develop, and the teaching opportunities they would like to pursue in the nearest future. - A complete, numbered list of publications (indicating titles, co-authors, page numbers and year) with an * marking the publications to be considered during the review. A maximum of 10 publications may be submitted for review. Applicants are requested to prioritise their publications in relation to the field of this job advertisement.
- Copies of the publications marked with an *. Only publications written in English (or another specified principal language, according to research tradition) or one of the Scandinavian languages will be taken into consideration. Please include documentation and citations in the Social Science Citation Index and/or Google Scholar of any relevant, significant, original research at an international level.
Recruitment procedure
A minimum of two applicants will be shortlisted after the application deadline and hereafter all applicants will be notified of their status in the recruitment process. The shortlisted applicants selected for assessment will be notified about the composition of the Assessment Committee and later in the process about the result of the assessment. A selection of the qualified applicants will be invited for interviews. Once the recruitment process is completed each applicant will be notified of the outcome of their application.
