Keld Laursen (KL) is a professor of the economics and management of innovation at Copenhagen Business School (CBS). He received his MSc from SPRU at the University of Sussex (1994) and his PhD from Aalborg University (1998).

KL is an Editor of Research Policy and has held several leadership roles within the Academy of Management (AoM), including serving on the chair track of the Technology and Innovation Management (TIM) Division (2013–2018), acting as Division Chair in 2016–2017, and as a representative-at-large on the AoM Board of Governors (2021–2024). He has also served as Head of the Department of Strategy and Innovation at CBS for eight years. He currently serves on the executive committee of DRUID and on the board of the U.S.-based Consortium for Cooperation and Competition (CCC).KL co-founded the European-based SEI (Strategy, Entrepreneurship & Innovation) Doctoral Consortium and has organized and co-organized several international conferences, including the DRUID Summer Conference, the CCC Annual Colloquium for Doctoral Student Research, and the SEI Doctoral Consortium.

His research focuses on how firms organize and manage innovation, and how the use of internal and external knowledge affects innovation outcomes. His work has been published in leading journals such as Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of International Business Studies, and Research Policy.
