Col­lab­or­a­tion across bound­ar­ies
In my re­search, I ex­am­ine the chal­lenges as­so­ci­ated with col­lab­or­a­tion across form­al bound­ar­ies, in­clud­ing or­gan­iz­a­tion­al and geo­graph­ic bound­ar­ies. My re­search also provides re­com­mend­a­tions, for how to ease the co­ordin­a­tion costs that come with cross-bound­ary col­lab­or­a­tion.
Or­gan­iz­a­tion design for strategy im­ple­ment­a­tion
A stream of my re­search looks at the chal­lenges as­so­ci­ated with strategy im­ple­ment­a­tion and in par­tic­u­lar the ex­plor­a­tion, ex­ploit­a­tion tradeoff ans well as the po­ten­tial or­gan­iz­a­tion design solu­tions.
Board dy­nam­ics and gender strat­i­fic­a­tion in lead­er­ship
Much of my re­cent work has dealt with gender strat­i­fic­a­tion in lead­er­ship. In this stream of work, I have ex­plored what hap­pens to board dy­nam­ics when more wo­men dir­ect­ors enter the board­room, as well as how re­cruit­ing firms af­fect ac­cess to boards. In terms of cor­por­ate gov­ernance, my work also ex­plores how fam­ily ties af­fect ac­cess to boards.
So­cial net­works and per­form­ance
Sev­er­al of my pa­pers util­ize so­cial net­work the­ory to un­der­stand per­form­ance out­comes, in­clud­ing in­nov­a­tion. My work has also ex­plored the in­di­vidu­al net­works that sup­port the ma­na­geri­al abil­ity to bal­ance the tradeoff between ex­plor­a­tion and ex­ploit­a­tion, as well as how net­works af­fect or­gan­iz­a­tion­al change.

The primary aim of my teach­ing is to help stu­dents un­der­stand busi­ness strategy. My re­search has im­plic­a­tions for strategy im­ple­ment­a­tion, as I seek to un­der­stand how firms and in­di­vidu­als op­tim­ize cross bound­ary col­lab­or­a­tion.

Louise Mors is a Professor of Strategic and International Management at the Copenhagen Business School. Prior to joining CBS, she was on the faculty at the London Business School and spent time as a post-doc at the Sloan School of Management at MIT. Louise Mors has a PhD in Management (Strategy) from INSEAD in Fontainbleau, France.  

Before pursuing her academic career, Professor Mors worked as an independent management consultant. She has served on the board of the Center for Leadership and is currently a faculty elected member of the CBS board. 

Professor Mors is actively involved in the academic community with the Strategic Management Society and the Academy of Management. She recently served as division chair of the Strategic Management division of the Academy of Management (2023 - 2024) and has served two terms as an Associate Editor of the Academy of Management Perspectives – a leading journal that addresses important issues concerning management and business.   

Professor Mors' research examines collaboration across boundaries and tries to untangle the relationship between senior managers’ informal networks, organization design, and performance. Recently her work has also examined issues related to corporate governance, including the role of women directors on corporate boards. Professor Mors’ work has been published in the top strategy and management journals, including the Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, and the Academy of Management Journal.

Served as an elec­ted of­ficer of the second largest di­vi­sion of the Academy of Man­age­ment and ful­filled the du­ties of As­sist­ant Pro­gram Chair (2021), Pro­gram Chair (2022), Di­vi­sion Chair Elect (2023), Di­vi­sion Chair (2024), and Past Di­vi­sion Chair (2025). The di­vi­sion chair leads a team of more than 100 people, and the di­vi­sion has more than 5,000 mem­bers.
