I support strategic leaders in making informed, unbiased decisions.
My research passion as a scholar is situated in the behavioral corporate governance field: I am interested in understanding how decisions are made at the top of organizations. As many factors can influence how the decision-making process unfolds, I have started my quest by looking at the decision that precedes boardroom discussion: the selection process of directors. Having the ‘right people’ on top management teams and board of directors can be pivotal to having successful board meetings; however, many (ir)rational factors may influence the way in which directors are selected. I seek to identify them in order to highlight their relevance to scholars, practitioners and society at large so that they can be accounted for when addressing this topic.
