Primary research areas

Entry in nascent industries

I examine how firms navigate nascent industries, those at the earliest stages of development. I study how firms make technological investment and market entry decisions, and how these choices shape both firm performance, survival and the broader industry structure. I am particularly interested in dual-use innovations—technologies that originate in the military domain and later find civilian applications

Entrepreneurial founding team

I examine how founders’ pre-entry experience influences entrepreneurial team formation and ultimately shapes organizational decisions and success.

I do research to link individuals, innovation and opportunities

My research examines how firms’ entry strategies and prior experience—whether from established companies or entrepreneurial founding teams—shape their performance and survival. I focus in particular on firm entry decisions and pre-entry experience in high-tech nascent industries, which are critical engines of economic growth. By uncovering how firm heterogeneity and strategic choices influence outcomes, my work shows how these decisions aggregate at the industry level and help explain the emergence and evolution of new industries over time.
