Claus Bøttcher Jørgensen

My focus is on innovation, entrepreneurship and outreach in education
Claus B. Jorgensen is the Study Director for MSc in Innovation in Healthcare. He has a PhD in molecular genetics. Between 2014 and 2020 he was Professor MSO in innovation, entrepreneurship and outreach in education at Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. Claus has published more than 70 peer-reviewed papers within molecular genetics, he holds patents in EU, US and Australia. Claus has been involved in course development in relation to various degree programs at both CBS and University of Copenhagen. During his career he has worked with strategic educational leadership and implementation of new teaching forms, adjustment of courses in the entire curriculum, accreditation, and educational collaboration with external partners. Claus has supervised more than 40 BSc, MSc- and PhD students both internally and in collaboration with external partners.

Outside activities
Part-time associate professor at University of Copenhagen, 2022–present
Host-pathogen interaction, genomics, inherited diseases in animals. Expertise on: Next generation DNA sequencing, DNA-variation, association mapping, linkage mapping, population genetics, breeding, comparative mapping, gene expression and mutation detection.
Teaching/supervision
Responsible for Advanced Biotechnology and Intellectual Property Rights (MSc-course). Teaching obligations in basic genetics, molecular genetics, genomics and population genetics. Supervisor of BSc, MSc and PhD-students.
