Profile description
Mia B. Münster is a Danish designer, design researcher, and educator. She holds an MA in Design and Architecture and a PhD from the Department of Marketing at Copenhagen Business School. She has over 20 years of professional experience in retail, hospitality, and product design, developing store concepts for both international brands and independent local businesses.
Her research focuses on design processes in retail and hospitality, consumer perception of commercial spaces, social and environmental impacts, and circular economy applications, with recent work on the societal role of coffee shops and their integration into local neighborhoods.
She has published in the Journal of Cleaner Production, Interiors: Design, Architecture and Culture, and International Journal of Retail and Distribution Management. Münster teaches design at both design schools and at Copenhagen Business School, where she developed the elective course How Design Creates Value for all interested in understanding the value of design, and has taught it since 2018. She has experience delivering lectures, workshops, and exercise classes, and supervises BA and MA students in relevant programmes.
