Let's play with data and AI – in­vest­ig­at­ing data sci­ence

Sine Zambach is an assistant professor at Department of Digitalization, Copenhagen Business School. 
 
She holds a ph.d. degree in computer science and a master degree in bioinformatics. She has worked within data analysis in the educational sector, genetics and in a book publishing company. Her main focus is on artificial intelligence and machine learning in the educational sector.

Sine is an expert member of the governmental Digital Task Force for AI in the Public Sector since 2025. In addition, she serves on the board of EdTech Denmark and is a member of the Data Ethics Working Group at the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences (ATV) since 2022.

Recent research projects

AI learn­ing and AI lit­er­acy

I study how gen­er­at­ive AI can sup­port stu­dent learn­ing. Des­pite risks such as cheat­ing and learn­ing de­fi­cits, I ex­am­ine how GenAI and AI-based mu­sic can be de­signed to en­gage stu­dents and en­hance learn­ing.
In a more tech­nic­al stream, I ana­lyse how stu­dent and teach­er per­form­ance can be meas­ured us­ing di­verse data sources, draw­ing on in­sights from di­git­al learn­ing dur­ing COV­ID-19.

Data Stud­ies – Data Dip­lomacy and Cit­izen Data Sci­ence

Why is so much ne­go­ti­ation em­bed­ded in data sci­ence work, and how does it shape out­comes? Us­ing data dip­lomacy as a lens, I ex­am­ine the of­ten-in­vis­ible ne­go­ti­ations that take place in the back­stage of data sci­ence.
In re­lated work, I study how cit­izen-pro­duced COV­ID-19 data visu­al­isa­tions shaped Dan­ish pub­lic de­bate and policy, con­cep­tu­al­ising cit­izen data sci­ence as an ex­ten­ded peer com­munity where non-ex­perts en­rich data in­ter­pret­a­tion and demo­crat­ic pro­cesses.

Ar­ti­fi­cial com­pos­i­tions

How does AI in­flu­ence arts and how does arts in­flu­ence AI? To­geth­er with En­semble Stor­strøm, we are ex­per­i­ment­ing with Ravel and ar­ti­fi­cial in­tel­li­gence in mu­sic com­pos­i­tions.
