Primary research areas

Green Transition and Governance

Exploring how democratic governance can shape the green transition, with a focus on infrastructures of participation and resilience.

Social Sustainability in Cities

Investigating how social housing organizations, municipalities, and civil society actors collaborate to foster inclusion and cohesion.

Associative Infrastructures

Developing an approach of associative infrastructures to understand how grassroots organizing, democracy, and municipal governance interact in creating socially sustainable cities for the future.

Democratizing the green transition through urban governance

My research focuses on how the green transition can be made more democratic and socially sustainable, and how to counter segregation in urban futures, and thereby fostering social sustainable urban environments and societal cohesion. I study how governance structures, organizations, and grassroots initiatives can foster inclusion, participation, and resilience.

Through projects on the governance of common housing, municipalities, and civil society actors, I investigate how infrastructures of participation shape citizens’ lives while addressing challenges such as segregation, gentrification, and climate change.

My current postdoctoral project examines how municipalities, housing organizations, and civil society collaborate to build socially sustainable cities.

Overall, my work connects philosophy, governance, and critical studies to generate knowledge that supports more inclusive and sustainable futures.

I am coordinator of the BHL research group ORGADIVA – Organizing Democracy, Inclusion, and Diversity.
