Global Rankings and Accreditations
The Association of MBA, AMBA
In 2007, CBS became the first university in Denmark to receive accreditation from the AMBA, underlining its international credibility and status. The number of MBA qualifications available worldwide is now in the thousands, but only a small percentage of these would achieve accreditation if they were submitted to AMBA’s rigorous international criteria.
Accreditation by the Association of MBAs identifies programmes as the best there is. In a crowded and complex market, the AMBA accreditation provides a reliable list of meticulously tested programmes and ensures that students' investments are rewarded with the finest business education available. European Quality Improvement System, EQUIS
CBS has been accredited by EQUIS since 2000. The EQUIS accreditation is awarded to business schools based on general quality, taking into account the business school's level of internationalisation. EQUIS assesses institutions as a whole. It assesses not just degree programmes but all the activities and sub-units of the institution, including research, e-learning units, executive education provision and community outreach.

The Association to Advance Collegiate School of Business, AACSB
In August 2011, CBS was the first school in Scandinavia to receive the AACSB accreditation. The accreditation standards are used as the basis to evaluate a business school’s mission, operations, faculty qualifications and contributions, programmes, and other critical areas. AACSB accreditation ensures students and parents that the business school is providing a top-quality education. It also ensures employers that AACSB-accredited business school graduates are ready to perform on day one.
Additionally, AACSB accreditation provides many benefits to the faculty and staff at its accredited schools by attracting higher quality students, providing greater research opportunities, and allowing for global recognition.

“Before, I found it hard to understand why we couldn’t get things moving, because it’s easy to sit at the other end of the business and not understand why things aren’t coming together. Now, I have a better appreciation and understanding of what it takes for the C-suite and a company to move the needle. That’s how I approach problems today.” Louise Vang Edwards

LEARN. DEVELOP. LEAD.
“Accounting is the language of business, and my goal is to ensure that every EMBA participant - regardless of background - feels confident using financial insights to make strategic decisions. By applying real-world case studies and interactive learning methods, we can make accounting not just understandable, but indispensable. ” Bjørn N. Jørgensen
Professor, Financial and Managerial Accounting
THE STEPWISE APPROACH
Turning knowledge into practice
The different subject areas normally run over several classes, which provides the opportunity for you to put what you have learned in the classroom into practice, and then come back for the next class with the professor with insights into what has worked and what has not. This can then be shared and challenged in classroom discussions by other participants. Following every course there is an assessment, which will be designed in order for you to apply your learnings from the course in relation to your own work place. This brings your learning immediately to life and ensures immediate applicability in a real-life business setting.
Part-time format
The part-time nature of the CBS Executive MBA has been designed for professionals to work towards their MBA degree while remaining in employment. This requires, on average, between 3 to 5 days out of the office each month, or an approximate total of 75 days out of the office over the 2 year programme. This part-time format allows students to immediately implement their learnings into their daily work. Beyond classroom time, EMBA students are expected to complete fairly substantial course work outside the classroom, including pre-readings and assessments. The CBS Executive MBA is a transformational and rewarding experience, but it also requires a whole-hearted commitment of time and energy from students.
The EMBA class outlook
One of the standout features of the Executive MBA at CBS is the network and classroom of peers that will be by your side for the two-year learning journey. This group of high-achieving and experienced classmates will challenge and inspire you to reach new heights in your professional and personal development.
Experienced
The CBS EMBA cohort are seasoned professionals with an impressive depth of business knowledge, with 16 years of work experience on average. CBS is ranked 7th in the world by Financial Times in the EMBA Rankings 2025 for 'Work Experience,' illustrating the seniority and credentials that the class brings. Engaging with such a group will spur you on to develop your own confidence and leadership skills.
Diverse
The classroom brings together professionals from diverse backgrounds, with the class evenly spread across different industries and functions. The highly interactive classroom environment allows students to see business challenges from a totally new angle.
Supportive
The CBS Executive MBA classroom acts as a supportive environment where classmates can step outside of their own organisation and try new approaches to business problems, without the consequences that can be present in a workplace environment. Classmates champion one another through the journey and provide a support network to learn and improve.
“Summing it all up, the biggest gain was the ability to see the big picture and understand the business more clearly. f specific courses, I can point to accounting and adaptive leadership that have aided me in this journey at the Port of Roenne, but it is the sum of overall development that toy go through during the EMBA education that makes a difference from just taking short courses ad hoc. I now have an extra gear to elevate myself and piece everything together. ” Jeppe La Cour
Chief Commercial Officer, The Port of Roenne, Class of 2023
