Course content
This course explores the challenges of global workplaces from managers' and employees' point of view. It brings up questions regarding what happens to the workplaces when organizations span geographical, linguistic, and cultural borders. The course focuses on management, human resource management, mobility, culture, identity and language aspects of the globalization. Whereas the main perspective will be managerial, employees' perspectives will also be introduced.
Readings and lectures will present various theoretical perspectives on globalization and the workplace and discuss the strengths and weaknesses of these when applied to today’s organizations.
