Course content

The student is eligible for 4 hours of supervision by an area studies supervisor. The purpose of the supervision is to ensure that synopsis and curriculum relate to relevant theoretical and empirical problems within the chosen study area.

The synopsis must be written in the student's second language (French, German or Spanish).

What you learn

1. Content:
Account for and discuss the relevance of the chosen literature in relation to the subject area of the synopsis.
Define and discuss key concepts in the chosen literature and put them in relation to the chosen empirical theme(s).
2. Language:
Present and discuss a given topic using an appropriate, rich vocabulary and academic terminology.
Respond fluently to the examiner’s questions, so that the examination flows as a dialogue.
Speak grammatically correct, coherent and well-pronounced without committing grammatical, lexical, and idiomatic or pronunciation errors that disturb communication.
Correct errors in the exam.

Course prerequisites

Students can only sign up if they also sign up for internship A. The Internship option B is only available to students within the French, German and Spanish language track at BLC. In addition, the internship must be located in a region where the second foreign language of your master's programme is spoken.
