Primary research areas

Power & Authority

I investigate the relationship between power and authority and how organizational actors
institutionalize power into authority.

Institutional Theory

I explore how institutions are changed and
maintained.

Time & Temporality

I research how time is experienced and
navigated.

Exploring the organizing of power and time at universities

My research explores how power dynamics are organized within universities, with a particular focus on how financial resources shape academic careers and power relations. By drawing on theories of power, institutionalism, and time in organization and management studies, I examine both the intended and unintended consequences of resource allocation in higher education.

My research ambition is to contribute to organization and management theory while also helping universities and funders reflect on how funding mechanisms influence organizational structures and the opportunities and empowerment of individual scholars. Ultimately, my work supports more inclusive ways of organizing universities and advancing organization and management theory.
