Organization Studies

I aim to bring patient perspectives to the center of research on healthcare.

I am interested in the organization of healthcare and how organizational factors affect health and illness. Especially, I am concerned with social inequality and vulnerability in relation to healthcare organization. My research focuses on cancer treatment among individuals with mental illness. In my research, I investigate the experiences of treatment courses, collaboration between sectors, and organizational barriers from the points of view of cancer patients with mental illness in the Danish social psychiatric sector.

In my research, I use qualitative, ethnographic methods to observe patients in their everyday life and in the healthcare sector. I am curious about how participatory approaches can be used when conducting research with a vulnerable patient group.
