Matthias Seifert is a Professor in the Department of Operations Management at Copenhagen Business School. His research lies in the domain of the Decision Sciences and has appeared in leading academic journals including Management Science, Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Management Information Systems, European Journal of Operational Research, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Nature Human Behavior (and others) as well as in practitioner outlets such as Harvard Business Review and MIT Sloan Management Review.

In terms of applied research, Matthias currently occupies various roles related to predictive intelligence and weak signal assessment at the NATO Defense College as well as the NATO Science & Technology Organization.

Matthias joined CBS in September 2026. Prior to that, he was an Associate Professor of Decision Sciences (2015 to 2026) and Assistant Professor of Quantitative Methods (2009 to 2015) at IE Business School in Madrid as well as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the London Business School. He obtained his PhD degree in Management from Cambridge University and holds an MSc in Decision Sciences from the London School of Economics and an MA in International Business from the University of Hamburg.
