Primary research areas

System Innovation

Studying the transformation of societies into sustainable systems through policy. System Innovation requires addressing wicked problems, across sectors and disciplines

Science-Policy

The study of science-policy systems and how to enable evidence-informed policymaking.

Transformative Mission-Oriented Innovation Policies (MOIP)

Studies the use of specific policies that aim to transform current systems in normatively desirable directions.

I connect evidence and policy to enable system transformation

Making net-zero transitions accountable
At Copenhagen Business School, I conduct the Marie Skłodowska-Curie-funded TRANSACT project, exploring how cities can move beyond measuring climate targets towards accountability that strengthens transparency, coordination, legitimacy and learning.

My research focuses on:

  • Urban climate governance: How cities steer, evaluate and adapt their sustainability transitions.
  • Transformative innovation policy: How policy experiments can create public value.
  • Policy learning and scaling: How cities learn and turn promising experiments into systemic change.

Bridging research and practice
Alongside my research at CBS, I work as a scientist at the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT), connecting research and policymaking through European projects, policy labs and science-policy dialogues to support transformative change.

Outside activities

Scientist at AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, 2024–present

At AIT’s Center for Innovation Systems & Policy, I research transformative innovation policy and help cities and governments turn climate goals into real action.
