Primary research areas

AI supply chain & Data workers

Focusing on mapping the AI supply chain globally and workers’ psychosocial experiences.

Sociology of Emerging Technologies

Exploring how emerging technologies impact communities and workers on a micro and macro level.

Platform governance

Exploring how platform governances influence invisible labour and social belonging for digital workers.

My work interrogates how individuals and communities navigate psychosocial consequences of digitization.

My research investigates platforms and workers within the AI supply chain to understand how algorithmic systems influence power dynamics in workplaces and labour markets.

Some research questions I address through my work are:

  • How do opacity and constant change in algorithmic management systems undermine workers’ ability to develop collective responses?
  • What are the psychosocial experiences of workers in fields of emerging technologies?
  • When/ how do social movements related to AI and its development, fail?

Recent research projects

DCORE: Dark Side of Corporate Responsibility

Funded by the Carlsberg Semper Ardens Grant, this research project studies the data work behind the development of (AI) platforms, its impact on digital workers, and associated governance challenges.
