Primary research areas

Energy Demand-Side Flexibility

The role of prices and tariffs in enabling demand-side flexibility: aligning consumer electricity use with renewable supply to reduce costs and enhance system flexibility

Market Design in Energy Communities

Designing fair and efficient market rules for local energy sharing and trading: Analysing communities to optimize renewable use, reduce costs, and strengthen participation.

Empowering consumers in the green transition

I am a PhD student at the Department of Economics at CBS, where I focus on Energy Economics. With a background in Innovative Sustainable Energy Engineering (MSc, Aalto University in Helsinki and KTH in Stockholm) and Industrial Engineering and Management, I bring a strong interdisciplinary approach to applied energy economics.

I work on key societal challenges: how to empower citizens as active participants in the energy transition and how to design fair, efficient markets for local energy communities. My research combines empirical evidence from Denmark with system-level modeling to assess how household flexibility can enhance grid stability, lower congestion, and increase social acceptance of renewable policies.

Beyond academia, my work contributes to policy and market design by providing evidence-based recommendations on tariffs, flexibility incentives, and community participation. This helps regulators, companies, and citizens alike to co-create energy systems that are not only technically feasible, but also socially inclusive and economically fair.

Recent research projects

CoDeF - Consumer Energy Eemand Flexibility

Investigation how end-consumers can adapt their electricity use in response to price signals, renewable availability, and system needs, thereby enabling demand-side flexibility

PtX Markets

The project assesses the market potential for hydrogen and green fuels. We focus on the short-term operations of PtX and the long-term market design, regulation of green fuels.
