AI is reshaping how professionals think and make decisions. Through behavioral experiments, I examine cognitive biases in AI-augmented work, changes in decision quality, and how professional judgment is being redefined.

I study how professionals and AI systems work together, with a focus on how people trust, rely on, and use AI. I examine when AI enhances human expertise versus when it creates new challenges.

The integration of AI into professional services raises broader questions about organizational change and professional practice. I study how professional service organizations integrate AI while protecting accountability and ethical standards.

Rethinking Professional Expertise in the Age of AI

My research explores how AI changes professional judgment and what happens when AI becomes part of work that traditionally relies on professional knowledge, experience, and judgement. AI can provide valuable information and analysis, but it also has limitations. When professionals work with AI recommendations, they may change what they pay attention to, how they evaluate evidence, and how they reach decisions. I am interested in understanding these changes and their implications for professional work.

I focus on two connected questions: how can AI provide information and explanations in ways that help professionals think and judge effectively, rather than simply follow recommendations? And how can organizations design AI adoption, workflows, and accountability so that AI supports professional work while reducing the risks of over reliance? My research begins with auditing, where professional judgement and responsibility are central, but I am interested in how these questions extend to other knowledge intensive professions, including consulting.

My research asks what professional expertise should become as AI handles more knowledge-intensive tasks. I hope my research can contribute to organizations that use AI more thoughtfully and to a clearer understanding of what people should contribute when working alongside AI. More broadly, I want to explore what professional work and professional expertise should look like in a future where humans and AI increasingly work together
