Presentation

Florian Kock is an Associate Professor of Marketing and Tourism at the Copenhagen Business School and has been a visiting research scholar at the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan (USA). Florian holds a Ph.D in Marketing from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (Australia), a M.Sc. from the Copenhagen Business School (Denmark), and a B.Sc. from the University of Münster (Germany). Florian’s work has been recognized with various international awards. Before joining academia, Florian has worked as a marketing manager in the food industry in Germany, Italy, Denmark and Finland.

Florian works cross-disciplinary and combines social, evolutionary and cognitive psychology to understand pressing issues in tourism and consumer research. Florian conducts conceptual, quantitative and qualitative research in the areas of marketing, tourism and psychology, and publishes in top tier international journals. He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Travel Research.

Supervision

Florian is currently supervising four Ph.D. students in the areas of consumer psychology and tourism.

Florian supervises ambitious theses in consumer behaviour, branding, tourism research, psychology and international marketing, with a focus on high academic quality and practical impact. Florian Kock prefers quantitative approaches. Contact Florian in good time before the actual start of your thesis with a proposal including an argumentation for its scientific relevance.
