Presentation

Florian Kock is an Associate Professor of Marketing and Tourism at the Copenhagen Business School and has been a visiting research scholar at the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan (USA). Florian holds a Ph.D in Marketing from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (Australia), a M.Sc. from the Copenhagen Business School (Denmark), and a B.Sc. from the University of Münster (Germany). Florian’s doctoral work has been recognized with various international awards. Before joining academia, Florian has worked as a marketing manager in the food industry in Germany, Italy, Denmark and Finland.

Florian’s research interests include the study of the behaviour of human beings, such as consumers, tourists and managers. Florian investigates the formation and structure of attitudes, the role of emotions in human behaviour, consumer and tourist decision-making, and the role of prejudice and stereotyping in consumer behaviour. Florian uses these insights to advance international and intercultural marketing, tourism research, branding and destination management.

Florian works cross-disciplinary and combines social, evolutionary, cognitive and clinical psychology as well as biology to understand pressing issues of consumer behaviour that often reach beyond the discipline of marketing. Florian conducts quantitative studies in the areas of marketing, tourism, management and psychology, and publishes in top tier international journals.
