Primary research areas

Worker representation in corporate governance

I investigate the drivers of the workers’ representation in corporate boards, and the implications for firm strategy, employment practices and workers’ commitment.

Gender inequalities in upper echelons

I study labor markets for directors and managers, and the behavior of the main actors (firms, candidates), with the aim to contribute to the understanding of the barriers to a higher representation of women in upper echelons

Corporate Governance of Family and Owner-managed firms

I explore the design and functioning of the corporate governance mechanisms and the talent management in family-owned and owner-managed firms.

I help build competent and inclusive upper echelons.

I study the organizational upper echelons, with specific focus on workers’ representation in the strategic decision making and the barriers to a higher women representation in the upper echelons. My research helps organizations:

- Become more inclusive and responsible
- Develop strategies that improve their relationship with their key employees and become better in attracting and developing management talent
- Optimize their incentive and control systems
